Join us for the first of a new series where we present the challenges and successes of what it takes to build a new community through innovative building techniques.\n\n \n\nThe neighborhood between the Seaport and Southie is named Fort Point because it was where Fort Hill jutted out into Boston Harbor. When Fort Point was filled in\, it became an area for industry and commerce through the 1800s. The neighborhood is dominated by late 19th and early 20th century industrial loft buildings which served as factories and warehouses for the Boston Wharf Company.\n\n\n\n \n\nPlease join Commodore Builders\, McNamara-Salvia Structural Engineers\, Margulies Perruzzi Architects and DBI Projects for a tour of 69 A Street in Fort Point. This project is a conversion of three adjacent parcels including a 3-story brick-and-beam rivet factory into the first Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) building in Boston.
