In the U.S., construction workers have a higher risk of developing cardiovascular disease.

Long hours, high stress, poor nutrition, high tobacco use, and the lack of heart-strengthening exercise are among the biggest culprits. In fact, 343,000 construction workers (1 in 25) have already been diagnosed with cardiovascular disease. That’s why the American Heart Association is working with leaders in the construction industry on Hard Hats with Heart, an initiative to engage construction workers nationwide and inspire them to live longer, healthier lives. Overall, prioritizing cardiovascular health in the workplace can lead to a safer, healthier, and more productive workforce.​

Pacesetter Agreement Request

We're thrilled to have you, and your colleagues join us for the Have Heart 5K! Because the health issues that plague the construction industry are like that of the legal community, we are inviting you to join this 5K anchored by the legal industry.  All companies are welcome!

Pacesetter Agreement Form

Getting started is EASY!

This form is for companies that cover the registration fees of their employees’ members. Once submitted, the form will generate a pacesetter agreement which will be forwarded to your company representative to sign. The pacesetter agreement will come from: GeneralAHA.eSign@heart.org.  All registration fees are non-refundable.

 

Once your company representative signs the pacesetter agreement via our portal, a unique code will be generated and forwarded to you.  You can then share code to have your employees register for the run. Please allow for 1-2 business days for the pacesetter agreement to appear in your signer’s email inbox.
