National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction
Join in OSHA’s National Fall Stand down Event which Region 1 OSHA will be hosting on September 18th at 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM Eastern Standard Time. This event will include many fall related topics and you can logon for the entire session or just the specific topics of interest.
Fatalities caused by falls from elevation continue to be a leading cause of death for construction employees, accounting for 320 of the 1,008 construction fatalities recorded in 2018 (BLS data). Those deaths were preventable. The National Safety Stand-Down raises fall hazard awareness across the country in an effort to stop fall fatalities and injuries.
Please consider sending your employees to this virtual event or using the information to hold an in-house stand-down event tailored to your site. Many sites will be having their maintenance staff, committee members or others attending this event. Businesses will also be able use a projector in their training rooms for a single login stream for larger audiences if they choose.

After the event, participants will be able to download a Certificate of Participation. The certificate pages will be active on September 14, 2020, for employers to enter their information and print their certificates. https://link.edgepilot.com/s/49575647/OZqD_f2fCk_qQ9XjeCRRHw?u=https://www.osha.gov/StopFallsStandDown/
