Description
The Trump administration has moved rapidly to fulfill campaign promises concerning immigration enforcement. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has been directed to aggressively pursue candidates for deportation, including through raids on construction sites.
This presentation will begin with a review of the various types of immigration enforcement, including I-9 audits, immigration site visits and ICE raids. The discussion with then focus on the importance of Form I-9 compliance, as well as the scope of ICE’s authority and the types of documentation it may use during a raid. The presentation will discuss the key elements of an effective policy to prepare in case an immigration enforcement officer or agent appears at your job site or offices.
