Description
AGC MA has invited some of our higher education, corporate and training partners that serve students interested in pursuing careers in construction management. Join us for weekly workshops to learn about tools and resources available to help you discover or refine your career path into this incredible industry. In each session our partners will offer a learning opportunity to increase your technical skills, knowledge about the industry and specific resources to support your next steps.
Students shape your world - ever wonder how you can empower them to shape theirs? If so, you'll want to join the next virtual training with AGC MA and Autodesk, the world’s leading Design and Make technology company. You will hear from Kellyanne Mahoney, former Boston Public Schools teacher who now manages Education Audience Marketing for Autodesk.
In this session, Kellyanne will discuss the student design challenge behind the annual Autodesk Make It Real program, which she has led since 2017. Make It Real encourages students to solve real-world problems through design and construction. This year's program puts the spotlight on affordable housing with the "Make It Home" student design contest. For the contest, students are challenged to develop design and construction solutions to ease the housing crisis by specifically asking the question: What if affordable housing could solve other problems in a community? Participants who showcase innovative designs that promote affordable housing can win exciting prizes that total $50,000! She will also share information about Autodesk's Building Changemakers Microgrant Giveaway, a $500 grant that is intended for students ages 17-22 in the U.S. who are transitioning from high school into an apprenticeship or additional vocational training in the building trades.
In addition, you will learn about other opportunities offered by Autodesk for both you and your students to blaze paths into the future of construction, including how to unlock free educational access to Autodesk tools, so that your students can gain the skills, hands-on experiences, and credentials to design and make a better world.
