Sam Sleiman, P.E., CCM, FCMAA, NAC
Director of Capital Programs and Environmental Affairs at Massachusetts Port Authority
Sam Sleiman is Director of Capital Programs and Environmental Affairs, Massachusetts Port Authority. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering from Northeastern University.
Sam is responsible for the executive operations, administration, and capital programming at the MPA, which includes Logan International Airport, general aviation airports, a seaport container terminal, a cruise terminal, and a toll bridge structure. He previously was director of aviation administration and development at Logan International. He is responsible for many “firsts” in the area of design and construction projects there: the first design-build runway safety area project, the first in-line baggage screening system, and Logan’s first LEED certified passenger terminal.
Luciana Burdi, Intl. Assoc. AIA, CCM
Deputy Director of Capital Programs and Environmental Affairs at Massachusetts Port Authority
Luciana is the Deputy Director for Capital Programs and Environmental Affairs for the Massachusetts Port Authority.
In her role, Dr. Burdi is leading the shift of Capital Programs towards a more innovative, progressive, BIM and Design Technology-driven department. By adopting Lean and Lean Construction principles and concepts, she is also committed to create a culture of continuous improvement focusing on maximizing the value for our customers, improving quality outcomes, while reducing non-value-added activities. She was instrumental in implementing an employee engagement program in the department which received Authority-wide recognition and still exists today. Prior to joining Massport, she held several positions at the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
She received her Doctorate from Harvard Graduate School of Design. She holds a Master's Degree from the Instituto Universitario di Architettura di Venezia (IUAV) in Venice Italy.
