Description

Foundations for Safety Leadership (FSL) is a 2.5-hour interactive training program designed to enhance the leadership skills necessary to improve jobsite safety culture and outcomes. This course focuses on equipping supervisors, foremen, superintendents, and other field leaders with practical leadership tools that help reinforce safety values, motivate crews, and drive daily safe performance.

Participants will learn how to integrate safety as a core value, demonstrate management commitment, ensure accountability at all levels, and foster strong communication and team engagement. The curriculum emphasizes key leadership behaviors — such as leading by example, actively listening, empowering teams, and providing meaningful feedback — that directly influence safety climate and reduce injuries and incidents in construction environments. Course activities include self-assessments, real-world scenario discussions, and the development of a personalized safety leadership action plan.
