Description
Join us to help create a culture that's smart about mental health
The Construction Hike for Hope is an event meant to engage the construction industry on the importance of mental health and suicide prevention. According to the CDC's data on suicide risk within occupational groups, the construction and extraction industries have the highest rate of suicide in the United States.
The goal of our Construction Hike for Hope initiative is to improve the mental health of construction workers through effective suicide prevention education, intervention and postvention strategies to encourage, equip and empower mental health champions in the workforce. Hike for Hope provides an opportunity to enjoy our natural surroundings and acknowledge the ways in which suicide and mental health conditions have affected our lives and the lives of those we care about. We hope you will join us in the beautiful setting of the Wachusett Mountain for this hope-filled event.
AGC MA has created a team for this year’s Hike for Hope—and we’d love to see our members out there with us!
We encourage companies to form their own teams as a way to bring colleagues together, spark important conversations around mental health, and show visible support for a cause that deeply impacts the construction industry. Building a team is a powerful way to stand together, support one another, and help break the stigma.
