As part of our popular on-going Technical Series , AGC MA presents– Setting the Stage, Site Logistics and Construction Management Plans-- where you will learn about why CMP’s are needed, how to effectively manage the difficult site logistics of zero lot line projects and what you need to know about maintaining public safety, right of way impacts and what adjacent project considerations are needed. Course instructors Bryan Zimolka, P.E. Civil Engineer, Nitsch Engineering, Jeffrey Marr Jr., Vice President, Marr Companies and Rich Burns President, Daniel Marr & Son Company will discuss critical operation topics including; crane selection, crane location, material lay down needs and coordination as well as traffic control factors and truck routing.

Bryan focuses on Transportation Planning and Traffic Engineering Services for Private Development. He has designed Construction Management Plans and Temporary Traffic Control Plans for projects such as the Prudential Tunnel’s Hynes Convention Center Ceiling Replacement Project, Millennium Tower/Burnham Building in Downtown Crossing, Pier 4 in the Seaport District, and at Boston Landing in Allston. Bryan is active with the Boston Society of Civil Engineers Section and the Institute of Transportation Engineers and was Chair of the BSCES Transportation and Development Institute from 2016-2018.

Jeff Marr, Jr. is Vice President of Business Development for The Marr Companies. Mr. Marr has been with the company since 2008 having started as Operations Coordinator and later becoming Aerial Lift and Swing Stage Representative for the Greater Boston area. In 2018, he served as Business Development Manager for Marr Scaffolding Company prior to his current position. Jeff’s responsibilities include all four Marr entities: Daniel Marr & Son Company, Marr Scaffolding Company, Marr Crane & Rigging and Isaac Blair & Co., Inc. Jeff is a 2008 graduate of Boston College. He is the first member of the sixth generation of the Marr family to work for the company

Richard E. Burns, Jr. is President of Daniel Marr & Son Company, Boston, MA. Starting with the company in 1996 as an Estimator, Rich has served as a Project Manager, General Manager, Vice President and was named President in 2013. He is responsible for all company operations including sales, estimating, pre-construction planning and budgeting, field operations and project management. Rich has managed a broad range of steel erection projects in all segments of Boston’s building industry and many of Daniel Marr and Son’s projects have become known as local industry landmarks, including the Alexandria Center, Waterside Place, The Encore (Wynn) Casino, Millennium Place, The John Joseph Moakley United States Courthouse, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, the GrandMarc at Northeastern University and Boston College.
