MESSAGE FROM THE EDITOR V5 |Tom Dunn, Partner, Pierce Atwood LLP

Professional associations like the AGC are invaluable during challenging times like we have been experiencing with COVID-19. They provide community and a forum for discussion and sharing of resources. AGC MA has “hit it out of the ballpark” during the past few months with its programs and initiatives, including:

The AGC MA Risk Forum highlighted by Molly Manson and Lexie Pereira. Through these bi-weekly calls, members engaged with attorneys and other professionals regarding the ever changing COVID-19 developments.
Building Endurance Series. AGC MA, with its law firm and insurance professional members, developed weekly webinars to help its members plan for reopening and the “new normal.” These sessions ranged from a description of the CARES Act, to employment issues, and modifications to the A201 post-COVID-19.

Email Announcements and COVID-19 Resource Webpage. The AGC MA staff regularly send out announcements regarding new policies or regulations. Similarly, the AGC’s COVID-19 resource webpage provides up to the date information and links to the most important internet sites.

Liaison to governmental authorities. The AGC MA was in regular contact with the Governor’s office and other public officials. It is evident that this communication went both ways and the AGC MA represented the construction industry in a professional manner. The fact that construction was one of the few areas allowed to reopen during Phase 1 is a testament to the work performed by the AGC.

Thanks to Bob Petrucelli, Lisa Frisbie, Donna Scally, Chris Ziegler, Barbara Canoni, Kara Morgan, and the rest of the AGC MA staff for their dedication and hard work!

In this edition of the Building Best Practices newsletter, we publish a diverse set of articles from business development to COVID-19 safety plans.  Molly and Lexie went high tech with their video interviews.  I hope you enjoy it.  Be well.
